You will also tackle hands-on projects under the guidance of industry experts and, ultimately, emerge ready to put your knowledge and skills to work in the exciting field of fintech.
About the Accelerated Bootcamp Structure
Onboarding
In the first week, participants will be welcomed to the program by the instructor and provided with an introduction to the Fintech Accelerated Bootcamp, which maps out their learning journey, expectations, and milestones.
Fintech Course
Over the next eight weeks, this highly practical course will increase your knowledge of modern finance through real-world examples. You will learn about fintech challenges, opportunities, and regulations, yielding new ways to conduct business and support customers. The course is followed by a one-week wrap-up to help consolidate key takeaways and allow you to complete and submit any remaining assignments or forum contributions.
Fintech Intensive Program
The final three weeks are dedicated to the final project. Participants will engage in topic-specific instructor-led interactive sessions and presentations by industry professionals. They will also create a professional development action plan through individual and group career coaching sessions.
Credential Award Ceremony
The bootcamp program culminates in a credential award ceremony, hosted online, to acknowledge participants’ advancement and achievements.
After completing the Bootcamp, you will be able to:
- Explain fintech fundamentals, their applications, and the benefits and drawbacks of fintech innovation.
- Apply fundamental tools and techniques from finance to fintech, including risk modeling, financial ratios, and time series.
- Evaluate the new applications and business models that fintech has enabled in key sectors of the economy.
- Articulate security measures required to ensure fintech innovations keep customers and financial institutions safe.
- Recognize and overcome the major challenges that start-ups and incumbents face when developing and implementing new fintech applications, including assessing risk, raising funding, and dealing with regulations.
After successfully completing the program, you will receive a credential certified by the University of Chicago.

Sourav Ghosh, MSc
Vice President at an Investment Bank
Sourav Ghosh has worked in high-frequency algorithmic trading firms for over a decade. Along with fintech, his areas of interest include probability theory and stochastic processes, statistical learning and inference, and natural language processing.
Lara Kattan, MPP
Data Science Educator and Curriculum Writer
Lara Kattan teaches for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and data science learning platforms. Previously, she was a consultant at McKinsey and EY. She has an MPP with a concentration in econometrics from UChicago.
